DeutschWelcome to the 2009 Botanists Meeting
On behalf of the organizers, we invite the members of the German Botanical Society and all those interested in the plant sciences to the 2009 Botanists Meeting in Leipzig. This year the University of Leipzig celebrates its 600-year anniversary. A new lecture hall center, in which the conference will take place, will be inaugurated in September 2009.
The lecture hall is located in the heart of the city near the Gewandhaus Orchestra and the Opera House
The meeting's theme is "Plants for the Future" and focuses on the major challenges of the future of mankind, the freezing of energy, food and raw materials and carbon mitigation of global warming. It is only through a better understanding of plant sciences and the implementation of developing knowledge in new technologies that we can address these problems. Therefore, the conference will provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and new data not only for German scientists, but also for senior speakers from all over the world.
